Back to School – Which Device is best for Students

With the school year back in full swing, you may be trying to decide which device would be best for your student going back to school for their study’s. With a new season means tons of new devices to choose from and can be really hard to make the right choice. There is so much to consider, everything from budget to specs and everything in between. One of the biggest concerns for most parents is making sure they purchase something that will last their child several years and can perform whatever tasks is needed.

Here is a list of the most popular devices for back to school this year:

  • Chromebook – the Google Chromebook is quickly becoming one of the most popular and easy to use machines available. It is by far the most affordable, especially when it comes to comparing specs to the other devices on the list. There are now dozens of different styles and models available to choose from. Whether you are going for affordability, power or portability; there is a for sure choice for you to choose from.
  • MacBook Pro or MacBook Air – MacBook’s are by far the most popular devices among high school and college students because of the interface and sleekness of the computer. Although they have the “cool factor” they are very pricey. But pricy for a reason; they virtually receive no viruses; they are quick, built to last and have great specs.
  • Windows 8 – Windows 8 is mostly hit or miss for most users. Either you love the new interface or you can’t stand it. Although it may take some usage to get use to, Windows 8 has some very fun features that has came along with it such as the tile interface and Windows app store.
  • Tablet – Although saying tablet is quite broad, they all go under one category. Tablets are great for portability, easy sharing and affordability. The only downfall though, depending on the tablet of choice, may not have the right specs or operating system to be able to launch the application or software you may need for school.

There is a handful of other options as well such as desktop computers but most likely your student will not want to drag a desktop computer around and will need their laptop or tablet for class. No matter the budget or specs needed there is always a great choice available. Just do the research and you will find it.
